[SOLVED] Windows 2016 Server - Uniface 32bit

Author: stijn.courtheyn@xperthis.be (Stijn Courtheyn)

I have seen that Windows 2016 is in the PAM, only in the 64bit version. But will Uniface 32bit application support also Windows 2016?

Yes. The lab is currently looking into this. Once the verification is done the PAM will be updated accordingly. Watch the announcements here on Uniface.info. Hope this helps.

What exactly do you mean? There is 64-bit Uniface for Windows (for details see e.g. the PAM for Uniface 9.7). Or do you mean 64-bit Development? That is currently not (yet) available (there are plans for Uniface 10). Hope this helps.

  5. So development is only in 32bit. And the compiled output can be run with 32bit or 64bit? Is there any special setting in any .asn-File required?

We are getting a bit off-topic here. However, the compiled Uniface objects are platform independent. So it does not matter on which operating system or architecture (32- or 64-bit) something is compiled (i.e. "compile once and run everywhere"). No special settings needed for this.

  7. There is a recorded Lecture on Uniface 64 bit deployment on YouTube. You can find it here. This recording can give you the proper background on this topic. Please keep in mind that this video still states that the HTML widget will not work on 64 bit. That information is not correct anymore; since Uniface 9.7.02 the HTML widget has been upgraded to use the Chromium Embedded Framework 3 (CEF3), which allows the HTML widget to work on 64 operating systems as well.
