Uniface 8.4.0.2 and Windows Server 2003.

Hi, we have a Uniface 8 application consisting of an Oracle 9 database and uniface forms hosted on a Sun Solaris 9 server, and Uniface 8 clients installed on Win XP desktops. Recently for remote partner users we have implemented some Windows Server 2003 terminal servers to replace NT4 citrix servers. Terminal server users now report that after 30 minutes of inactivity with the Uniface client; they get a Uniface login box appear asking for the database name, user name and password and have no option but to crash out of the Uniface desktop app.

Our uniface app has run for many years on the Win XP desktops and NT4 citrix servers without this problem occuring. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar, or has any advice on how to resolve this.

Thanks!

  1. Hi Michael,

check the TIMEOUT settings in the different ASN files.

Looks like they are not identical.

    Success, Uli

  2. Thanks but our ASN files do not use the TIMEOUT option.

Also in the MTS event logs there are many errors that contain the message 'Faulting application, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module yrtl.dll, version 8.4.2.0, fault address 0x000a490d..'

yrtl.dll is a uniface dll. Wondering if this has anything to do with the problem?
