29-September-2020: Incompatibility with Windows 10 Version 2004 and Windows Server 2019 Update

Uniface has determined that Uniface Anywhere versions 5 and 6 are incompatible with KB4571756, a Windows Update that Microsoft released first week of September for Windows 10, version 2004 and on 24 September on Windows Server 2019.
When KB4571756 is installed on a Windows 10, version 2004 or Windows Server 2019 hosts, applications running in Uniface Anywhere sessions fail to display.
This issue occurs on Windows 10, version 2004 and Windows Server 2019. Uniface Anywhere is compatible with the latest Windows Updates on all other versions of Windows, including earlier versions of Windows 10.

Customers running version 6 on Windows 10 and had the Windows Compatibility Assurance enabled, received automatically last week the update 6.0.1.g, Other than a required reboot of the host, there is no extra actions required.
Uniface has expanded the distribution of the Uniface Anywhere 6.0.1.g Host Update on to include Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10, version 1809.
This update will also be automatically downloaded and installed on Uniface Anywhere hosts running on these versions of Windows that have Windows Compatibility Assurance enabled.

Uniface is currently working on 5.0.2.i Uniface Anywhere Update to resolve this issue for version 5.0.2.

When the updates are ready, they will be released via the Automatic Host Updates feature to version 6 hosts running Windows 10, version 2004 and Windows Server 2019 and by download for version 5 on

In the meantime, customers running version 6 who have the "Defer Windows Updates until they have been certified" option enabled should not receive the incompatible Windows Update.
Alternatively, customers running version 6 who do not have this option enabled, and customers who are running version 5, may receive the incompatible Windows Update before Uniface releases the Uniface Anywhere updates. If this occurs, customers can work around the issue by uninstalling KB4571756.

  • Critical updates supplied under Windows Compatibility Assurance can contain files with code signing Certificates issued by GraphOn Corporation.
This is intentionally and by design to be able to deliver patches with the lowest risk of downtime of the Host that requires the update.
