We have a lot of uniface objects in source control that were created before uniface 9.7.  How would we convert these so we can import them into Uniface 10.3 for development once we have upgrade to 10.3? Otherwise we are thinking of keeping a machine installed with uniface 9.7 so we can import them into this environment and then export them into uniface 10.3.

All the required steps to migrate to Uniface 10 are explained in the documentation. For details see the topic Migration to Uniface 10 and the related sub-topics. There are even two topics specifically for what is needed to prepare the migrations:

      > Migration to Uniface 10 > Prepare for Migration

      > Migration to Uniface 10 > Prepare the Uniface 9 Application for Migration

Please note that you should use a single export file for the whole application, or at least combine application model and related components into a single file, if you want to maintain Uniface 9 entry inheritance behavior when moving to version 10 (see Migrate the Application).

      Hope this helps.

        Hey Marcus,

If they're in a SC system - why wouldn't you just do an export 'ALL'?  We've got some 3000 components, 100's of tables across 6 models, global proc etc etc.  I exported everything to one file - and imported said file.

All objects came across - of course withouth the connection to a SC system.  Hopefully we'll be able to connect to a SC system in not too distant a future.

        HTH.

        Knut
