uniface university, terms of use

Author: ulrichmerkel@web.de (ulrich-merkel)

those who hoped they can seduce friends to try it with uniface may not like this part of the Uniface University Terms Of Use:

Only customers, partners, employees, or others granted specific permission by Compuware may register for an account at Uniface University.

Another part of this TOU seems to be a showstopper for developing ideas as well:

Compuware Rights to Posts

Your User Generated Content is not confidential or proprietary. You grant to Compuware a non-exclusive, non-revocable, worldwide, perpetual right to use your User Generated Content in any manner or media now or later developed without limitation, including, but not limited to, the right to sublicense and assign and commercialize without any compensation due to you or your company. By participating in the Forum, you hereby acknowledge and agree to relinquish your rights to sue or seek compensation or other remedies from Uniface for its use of your User Generated Content or any products or content derived therefrom.

Because this is the very first day of this university, perhaps these terms can be modified a little bit

Once you are registered, it seems that you can not navigate to that file again,
but here is the URL: http://training.uniface.com/~trunifac/files/uniface_terms_of_use.htm

Adding a link may help, especially because of "Compuware reserves the right to modify these University TOUs at any time, with or without notice"

  1. Hi Uli, thank you for pointing this out.  There is no intent to restrict access to Uniface University we simply copied the terms of use from another one of our sites that has that requirement.

Customers and non customers, or perhaps I should say future customers, are welcome so please feel free to distribute the site link.

The terms of use have been updated and a new link added to the page footer.

  2. Hi George,

thanks for clearing that point, I was sure that the university is targeted to "all the wotrld".

As I learned time and time again when a new application starts,
there are small things like that which come up and be resolved in a couple of hours.

Nobody knows why this was not found earlier, but that is the real life.

Have a good time and all the best for the university, Uli
