Interface between Uniface9 and Subversion

Author: k.koppens@minlnv.nl (unicase)

Hi,

I have a problem configuring Uniface 9.3.02.01 and the SCC-tool 'TortoiseSubversion 1.6.13'.
When I try to fill in the 'System preferences' with any .DLL from Subversion, Uniface gives
an error-message " 6177 calling Source Code Control (CONNECT) System failed".
Does anyone know what the correct .DLL is for this combination ?
I would be very gratefull to know what to do so I can use the 'check-in/out'  directly from within Uniface.

Thanks anyway,

Kees Koppens

  1. Hi Kees, You won't be able to connect directly from Uniface to Tortoise Subversion. The DLLs you are looking for will normally be called something like *SCC*.dll. I have connected Uniface to Subversion previously but I had to use a 3rd party interface, called PushOK (http://www.pushok.com/soft_svn.php). However there is a cost associated with a PushOK license. Hope this helps, Jon

  2. Hi Jon,

Thanks for the quick respons. It's a pity that it won't work directly with selecting the right .DLL. I'am gonna try your solution with the PUSHOK software.

  3. Two things:
    - If you only need the DLL because you want clustered exports you can download igloo.dll from internet. Just Google it.
    - Do you have the Uniface license feature for version control? It won't work without that.

  4. Hi Theo,

As I spend part of my time at the same site as Kees, Í take the liberty of answering on his behalf:
    1. If you only need the DLL because you want clustered exports you can download igloo.dll from internet. Just Google it.
    - Yes, we (Kees and me) installed the igloo example after reading your blog a few month's back. Works fine for clustered exports, but we now really want  to take it to Subversion. Subversion is the client's default for version control and we must comply.
    2. Do you have the Uniface license feature for version control? It won't work without that.
    - Yes the client has already this USCCI license.

    Cheers,
    Arjen
