Animated gif

Author: giachino@finaosta.com (Paolo Giachino)

Hi, somone knows if it is possible to use animated gif in a Uniface 9.2 form? Creating a picture widget type referred to a glyph or disk file image doesn't work. I see the picture but not the animation Thanks in advance Paolo

  1. In Uniface 9.2 it is not possible. In Unifac 9.6 it is easy with the HTML Widget.

  2. Hi Paolo, if you want to see how this looks like in 9.6.01, download the dITo contribution on HTMLwidgets from http://unifaceinfo.com/downloads/?did=185 or the more extended package from www.uli-merkel.de and check the "Pendeluhr" code. This animation is completely CSS driven. On the 9.2, one concept would be to have a group of images and you use utimer to constantly change the images and use a "show" afterwards to make it visible but thats a terrible waste of resources. The other option would be an OCX container with an embedded application capable to handle animated images. BUT: is it worth all that only for some eyecatching ?

  4. Hi Paolo, thanks for the praise. It is extremely rare to receive positive feedback for the work done in the dITo initiative.
