Uniface 9.6 grid widget with image button

Author: giachino@finaosta.com (Paolo Giachino)

I'm trying to use an uniface button as a field of a grid widget with glyph image, but the image is not displayed and I not able to found a solution. Do you have suggestions to solve that?? Thank you in advance Paolo

Hi Paolo, I'm afraid that command buttons with images are (currently) not supported by the Grid widget. Frown I agree that this is not immediately obvious from the documentation, but there's a little footnote in the chapter "Widgets and Properties Supported in Grid Widget" that says: "Image display is not supported". And this applies to the Command Button properties:

    • Preserve Aspect Ratio
    • Switch Palette
    • Vertical Image Scaling

I'll ask if we could make the documentation more clear about this limitation. The only widget that is supporting images in the Grid (at this moment) is the Picture widget. Maybe you could use that instead of a Command Button? I know that it's not the same, but you can activate the <Detail> trigger of a Picture widget by double-clicking on it. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Daniel

  2. Thank you for the explanation, I tried to ask here in the forum just to know if there are some tips for this issue. I know that picture widget is supported but, as you said, this workaround is not the same and the double-click instead of a single click on a button could be not so clear for users. Thank you  Paolo
