Uniface upgrade v8.4.02 to 8.4.06 - Resolved
Author: michael.hoogenboom@telecom.co.nz (hoogmike)
Resolved by adding the following to the ASN file:
usys:usys.urr usys:usys.urr
Hi, we are in the process of upgrading out uniface app to v8.4.06, mainly so we can use DLM4. It's mostly going ok but one problem I can't seem to resolve is when I launch the upgraded IDF, it quits afier I enter my login details with this message:
5802- Unable to start component UUSUIT36 : Signature not found
My ASN file definitions are standard:
[FILES]
usys:idf.aps usys:..\components\idf.aps
usys:uu*.frm usys:..\components\uu*.frm
usys:ur*.svc usys:..\components\ur*.svc
usys:uu*.svc usys:..\components\uu*.svc
usys:*.trx usys:..\trx\*.trx
uusuit36.frm is there in the components directory, both on the client and the server.
Compuware support tell me this can be resolved by reinstalling uniface, which I have done twice on my windows client and once on the unix server, each time I did a fresh install of the v8.4.06 binaries and patch d612.
Unfortunately the problem still exists. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Michael

If you use DOL and URR,
run IDF.EXE /dol and /urr to include the "new" uniface signatures.

Thanks. I did this but I still get the error...

I think it's the uniface urr and dol you need, they get separate billing in the files section IIRC. Is there an entry for USYS:*.urr etc?

Another point to look at is, if you have several uniface version installed, where the usys path pointed at.
Sometime it is set in your ini set, still pointing to old installation pathes.
