Converting formatted string to hex-string

Author: m.koessldorfer@tme.co.at (mkoss)

Hi Team, I need to convert a formatted string (e.g. myFormattedString=$bold("boldString")) into its hexadecimal string representation (e.g. "8F403C"). In U9 there is the possibility to use $encode Function. However, in U8 this function is not available and I do not find any possibility to do this convertion. Does anybody have any idea?   Thanks in advance, Max

  1. Hi Max   There a two ways to do so: 1) Use a small C-Programm 2) Long time ago, I did this in UnifAce itself Define global help-texts as "ABCD...." with all possible attributes  (normal,B,I,U,BI,BU,BIU,IU,U) i.g $text("ATTR_BU") = "ABCD.... " with all characters set to BOLD and UNDERLINE Now you can scan your string for this characters and create a new HEX-string Ingo

Hi, Max. As for me, I have seldom tried to convert a formatted string (e.g. myFormattedString=$bold(“boldString”)) into its hexadecimal string representation. I wonder have you ever worked it out? Do I need another 3rd party manual toolkit? When it comes to PDF converting process, I have another question, I wonder have you ever tried to convert pdf to other image files before? As for myself, I am testing the related PDF to JPG converting, PDF to PNG converting, and PDF to BMP converting programs these days. Do you have experience about it? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.        Best regards, Lee
