DLM installation issue

 Hi there, I have the following issue: both Uniface 8.4 and 9.6 were installed on our 2 servers (Citrix running on Win 2008). Since 8.4 is not used anymore I uninstalled it from both. One went fine but I can't start the appl. on the other because the license manager does not work anymore. The dlm appl. does not start. I thought I can fix it by uninstall&re-install 9.6 but for some reason the dlm does not get installed. Any idea how can I force it to be completely removed and re-installled?   Thanks for your help, Zoltan


  1. Zoltan, Typically DLM is installed separately. When you start up setup.exe - down towards the bottom of the and to the right of the logo, you'll find a 6 or 7 lines of text. The 2nd line should be 'install uniface license server'. Click on the link and DLM installer is launched. Good luck. Knut

  2. Hi Knut, thanks for your reply! I tried that too and it did something successfully but I don't see what. I didn't find the dlm.exe installed. I see the dlm installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Compuware on the other server which works fine. So, just for your information the final solution was (after I tried to the options of remove and repair) to apply the installation option "modify" where I noticed that the selected method was "install if required" which I think doesn't make to much sense in this case but after I changed it to "install with all component" the dlm happened to be installed correctly and I'm happy now.  Best Regards, Zoltan
